Change in Spouse’s Coverage
The following two events will allow for a change in benefits.
- If the spouse’s employer coverage were to change, causing a gain or loss of coverage (i.e. changing jobs or losing employment)
- Spouse’s employer is undergoing Open Enrollment and spouse changes coverage
You have 30 days from the date of the event to report the change to a member of the Benefits Team. You may elect medical, dental, or vision coverage, or drop your coverage to go on your spouse’s plan. You may also elect to change your Health Care FSA amount. You will need to complete the appropriate forms and provide a letter from your spouse’s employer confirming the effective date of the change, listing all coverage being gained or lost, and listing all covered individuals.
